No, you have until August 1, 2024, to sign you child up for the 2024 football season. Click on the registration tab above to register your child.

Yes, we do have a scholarship program for players which provides a discounted rate for families who qualify for free or reduced lunch for the 2024-2025 school year. Please contact your school districts Food Service department to get documentation. Your child will not be able to participate until there is documentation or the full rate is paid.

Your child will get drafted or assigned to a team at your districted high school location. If your child is districted to go to BHSN, BHSS, or Edgewood, your head coach will contact parents and inform them what days and times practices will be held. After the first two weeks, most coaches practice in the evenings on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. In rare occasions, there are hybrid teams that will combine players from differing high school districts if numbers are too large and will drastically impact the playing time and management of a team (e.g., a combined BHSS and BHSN team if there were 20+ players on multiple teams).

No Board members or coaches get paid for the services they provide. MCYFA is a 501(c)3 that is run in full by volunteerism.

There can be up to three contacts a week after the first two weeks of the season. Two practices and one game.

Games are located at IU Memorial Stadium for the opening Jamboree and the championship. All other games are played in a rotation at Bloomington High School North, Bloomington High School South, and Edgewood High School.

In the event of inclement weather, we will have delays that may lead to cancellations that will be communicated via our website, social media, and coaching staffs.

Yes, ALL head, lead assistant, and assistant coaches must obtain a USA Heads Up coaching certification before helping for a game or practice. Even parents who want to just help for practices must be certified for the best interest of safety for the players.

Player safety is our top priority. We adhere to strict safety protocols, including proper equipment fitting, certified coaching, and adherence to concussion management guidelines set by USA Football.

MCYFA provides helmets, shoulder pads, and game jerseys to AFL and NFL players. Flag football participant will receive a jersey and the coach will provide flags for practice and games. Families are responsible for providing their own pants (black or white; determined by coach), cleats, and mouthguards.

We welcome volunteers for various roles, including coaching, team parents, chain gang, and many other ways that help our volunteer based organization. Please send an email to mocyfa@gmail.com if you have interest
